Social Media Marketing: Content, Communication, & Connection
Social media is the concept and process of using new media and online channels to not only market your company but also to communicate with your industry and clients, provide valuable content and information to your audience, and generate sales leads while increasing the visibility of your company or brand online.
This seminar will provide an overview of the major social media platforms like blogs, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook and discuss how they can be integrated into your promotion, marketing, or sales plans. Each of our tourism industry presenters is intimately familiar with new media and social marketing and will share their specific experience in using social media to better communicate and connect with Maryland’s travelers. There will also be ample time for Q&A so that you are equipped with the resources, information, and action items that will allow you to successfully implement social media components into your marketing plans.

Doug Broujos, a 20-year veteran in the online marketing industry, is the COO of Blue Sky Factory, the industry leading email service provider.
Natalie Friton is a partner with Chesapeake ProCon, a new media focused consulting business that provides customized public relations and brand management services to the marine, travel, and fi tness industries.
Wini Roche is the Tourism and Marketing Manager for Harford County Government. Having been a destination marketer for 15 years she was one of the first Maryland DMOs to take the plunge into electronic marketing.
Roseanne Souza is the Managing Director of The Souza Agency in Annapolis, Maryland; a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations fi rm serving business, government, and non-profi t clients for over 25 years.
Joel Mark Witt is the Associate Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. He will explain how to increase sales and marketing online through social media, blogging, podcasting, Twitter, and Facebook.
